Stud Service Process

We offer stud service via artificial insemination (AI).  The procedure is done at a licensed veterinarian clinic.  Our preferred veterinarian is SoCal K9 Clinic in Riverside.

Stud service fee is $800.  Additional rounds are $100 each.  Veterinarian charges are separate and not included in the stud service fee.

Below is our three-step stud service process.

Step 1:  Contact Us

The first step is to contact us and let us know when you anticipate your dam going into heat so we can make availability to meet you once your dam is ready.

Step 2:  Get Progesterone Testing

It is recommended to start progesterone testing 6 days after the first day that your dam goes into heat to determine the optimal time to do the breeding.  Once ovulation has been confirmed with progesterone testing and your dam is ready to breed, we will meet you at the veterinarian clinic to do the artificial insemination (AI).

Step 3: Artificial Insemination

Artificial insemination (AI) is a process where semen is collected from a male dog and introduced into a female dog’s reproductive tract to facilitate fertilization and conception without natural mating.  You can choose either transvaginal insemination or transcervical insemination.

Transvaginal Insemination is the most common and least technical method of artificial insemination. In this technique, an insemination pipette is used to deposit semen into the vagina just in front of the cervix.

Transcervical insemination (TCI) is a technique that can be performed either with palpation or the use of an endoscope to help see the cervix. In this technique, a special instrument is used to bypass the cervix and deposit semen directly into the uterus.

(Stud service fee must be paid, and stud service contract must be signed prior to breeding.)
